We First Met

We met whilst straying with Canadian scout groups in London, Ontario and spent every spare moment swapping stories.
From a World Scout Jamboree connection to a Hanbury Barns celebration back home in the UK.
We first crossed paths at the World Scout Jamboree 2019, trading campfire stories in London, Ontario. The distance between the Netherlands and the UK never quite dimmed the spark.
Once James moved back, trains, FaceTime calls, and pizza nights closed the gap until it turned into the life we're building in Kidsgrove.
From our first hello to the day we say “I do”, here are the highlights that shaped our story.

We met whilst straying with Canadian scout groups in London, Ontario and spent every spare moment swapping stories.

With James back in the UK, our messages picked up where the jamboree left off and we pencilled in a New Year reunion.

James travelled up to Walsall; we made homemade pizza, reminisced about the jamboree, and knew the spark was still there.

After countless trains between London and Walsall, we made it official and started dating.

We spent a week in Warwickshire exploring the countryside and enjoying each other's company - the first of many trips together.

James moved to Manchester, meaning shorter journeys, more shared weekends, and an even stronger partnership.

We spent a weekend celebrating our anniversary in Milan, Italy. We enjoyed the sights, the culture, and of course, the food.

After a year and a half, James moved in with Niamh and her family in Mow Cop while we planned for a home of our own.

We found a stray kitten underneath the caravan and decided to adopt him. Clemmy has since become an unbelievably important part of our lives together.

We celebrated our first Christmas together in Mow Cop.

With Niamh's job confirmed, we took the plunge and had an offer accepted on our first home in Kidsgrove.

James proposed to Niamh on the pier in Gibsons, BC, Canada. We celebrated with James' family and woke up Niamh's family in the UK to tell them the news.

The day we've been waiting for! We can't wait to celebrate with all our friends and family at Hanbury Barns.
We’re thrilled to gather and celebrate surrounded by the people who have cheered us on from day one. Thank you for being part of the story so far.
Bring your best dance moves and a favourite memory - we can’t wait to make new ones with you.
